I live with my parents, their names are Javi and Josefina. I don’t have any brothers or sisters but I have a lot of little cousins. One of them is my cousin Jana, a little baby who is only five months old!!

By the other hand, most of my family -uncles and grandparents- are living far from Barcelona ,in Málaga. and when it’s possible I make a visit them because I can’t see them very often.
Hi! My name is Grant. It’s nice to meet you. I am 17 years old and live about 20 minutes outside of San Francisco, in the city of San Mateo, California. My parents are divorced, so most of the time I live with my mom Norma and my younger brother Garret (he’s three years younger than I), but some nights and weekends I live with my dad in Burlingame, another city nearby. It’s not a bad situation, and I’ve gotten used to it. I have a dog named Kia, who is a mutt, and a cat named Clancy, who is orange and white and very small.
I go to Aragon High School, also in San Mateo, and in addition to my classes there, I play saxophone in the school band and write articles for the school’s newspaper. When I have free time, I like to read. My favorite books are fictional novels of all kinds. I don’t like nonfiction as much. My favorite book is by a Japanese author - “Kitchen” by Banana Yoshimoto. I also like lots of things about Japanese culture, such as the food (sushi!) and language. I also like to travel, so I am planning a trip to Japan this summer, and I hope to study abroad in Spain sometime in the next couple of years, while I’m in college. As you might have guessed, I really like learning languages, and I want to be a teacher someday. (Read my entry in the Spanish language blog for more about my teaching!)
My name is Jose Gonzalez, i am 17 years old and am of Salvadoran origin. i am in my senior year of high school and have a dream to attend the University Of California in Berkeley, the best public university in the nation. I am very nercous, i don’t have that confidence, I always say “how can, a young hispanic immigrant go to the best public university in the natiion?” many, people in my school, think that I cannot, but my family says that everything is possible.
I have one passion, the violin. I have played the violin almost, about 8 years and I want to continue playing in the unviersidad. If you want to see the university that I want to go, visit www.berkeley.edu. Do you like the University? That’s awesome that you’ve majored in geogrophy, I want to study politica science. How old are you? What’s the name of your Universdidad? do you like the work load? I would love to visit Spain some day, I want to see all the beauty the country offeres. What are your plans for the future? Let me know!
Goodbye from California!
Hi I’m Edward:
I live currently in the US, but I’m originally from Peru. I moved to the US a few years ago and started going to High School as soon as I arrived. I go to Aragon High School, this is my last year in High School. Some of my hobbies are skateboarding, playing soccer, reading, and playing online games. My plans after school are going to College and having a career in Psychology. I like to lear the reasons why people behave in certain ways. Also I like science a lot, mostly Biology and Chemistry. I hope we can talk a lot more.
See You Soon,
Edward
Hi!
My name is Chandamheer, but everyone calls me Chanda. I just turned 18 on Saturday and I’m a senior in high school that’s located in California. I have no brothers and sisters and no pets either. My favorite colors are pink and yellow and I’m usually a very happy person who love the sunshine. I like to be optimistic and cheerful about things. I’m the co-captain for our school’s Varsity Cheerleading sqaud. I love to dance and perform. I especially like to sing in the car while I’m driving. I love to drink lemonade and eat hot dogs with ketchup. I have an addiction to shopping, and all my money goes to waste on clothes, purses, and shoes. I have a job at a clothing store and it’s the best job ever. I too am very stubborn. I enjoy listening to music and hanging out with my friends.
Hey Alex,
What it do? (That’s just kind of slang for what’s up)
My name is Christine Rodriguez. I’m so sorry for taking so long to write you back. My e-mail wasn’t working for a while and couldn’t get my password. So yeah, my name is Christine but I liked to be called Chris. I’m 18 years old and of El Salvadorean decent. I am in my senior year of high school and I’m so excited for college. I want to go to the University of San Francisco but if I don’t get in I want to go to Sonoma State University of San Diego State University. I have 2 older sisters, so yes, I’m the baby! My oldest sister, Melissa,is 21 and she attends Skyline community college. My other sister, Tanya, is 19 and she attends Cañada community college. Tanya and I are only 13 months apart in age. We look like twins! It’s so annoying when people confuse the two of us because we get that a lot!
It seems that we have a few things in common. The best thing we have in common is playing socccer(football). I love to play soccer! I have been playing soccer for about 14 years. What position do you play? I play either left midfield or left defender. I love the sport and I’m going to continue to play in college. My highschool season is over but I a going to start playing with my indoor team and club soccer team. I play soccer year round. I’m sorry but I don’t agree with your favorite team. I think that Manchester United is the best team. I love that team! I like Barcelona but i like Man U better.
Hey, Javier! I have already written an introduction in the other blog, so I’ll try not to discuss the same subjects. If you have any questions on vocabulary or don’t understand something I write, just ask.
I live with my parents but not my sister. She is going to Wellesley College, and all-girls university outside Boston. She is in her final year in school, and next year she will go to New York City to live with her friends and find a job. I also have some cousins, and I am especially close with Danny, who is my age and lives nearby. My grandparents live in Los Angeles, and we see them often.
What bands other than U2 do you like? Do you have anything like “American Idol” in Spain? It’s funny how well Kelly Clarkson has done over here… her “Since U Been Gone” was practically the theme song for our first semester in the newspaper office at my school. I prefer good music, though.
Do you like movies? Recently, I haven’t seen many good ones. I don’t think 2005 was a very good year for new American movies. Have you seen any movies lately? One thing I recall from my visit to Spain was that there were immense movie posters everywhere. Advertisements for Harry Potter 3 took up entire blocks in Madrid. I enjoyed that Harry Potter movie more than I expected to. It was directed by Alfonso Cuaron, who also did “Y Tu Mama Tambien,” which I’ve heard is a great movie. Bye!
Hi Irene!
My name’s Ashleigh and I’m a senior at Aragon High School in California. As a newly-certified 18 year-old, unfortunately I haven’t taken full advantage of my adult status. I’m currently waiting to hear the results from the colleges, though lately I’ve been trying to spend more time with family and friends before our class graduates in May. Though I have the same interests as the average teen (i.e. going to the movies, shopping, hanging out with friends), I do enjoy volunteering and helping in the community. I am a member of our county’s Youth Commission, which is made up of youth throughout the county and we work closely with adult officials to help the youth and their families in the community. It’s a lot of fun- recently we went on a fun trip to Great America and I realized my fear of heights while riding some of the rides… not the greatest feeling in the world, but it was still fun!
Anyhow, I look forward to hearing back from you! Thanks!
-Ashleigh
