My family

I have already written a bit about my family. My sister goes to college in Boston, and she is 21 years old and speaks Spanish. She traveled to Chile last year for a semester and studied how Chilean schools teach about Pinochet. She is graduating this coming June. When I visit my future college for a week in April, I will also visit her, which I am looking forward to. I only see her once every few months, so I am very happy to have this chance to meet her.

My parents are named Joan and Michael. Both of them are lawyers. In fact, much of my family are lawyers; my uncle is one, my grandfather was one before he retired, and I think my sister will be one some day. No, we do not discuss lawsuits at the dinner table. Or at least, not usually… ;)

My mom is from Los Angeles, and my dad is from Illinois. I see my mom’s family much more often than I see my dad’s family. Partly this is because Illinois is much farther away, but also my father’s side of the family is a little weird. Most of my mom’s family is located in California, near where I live. I have two cousins that live nearby, one of whom is my age. I also have some cousins in Nebraska, where my uncle teaches agronomy (if you don’t know that word, don’t feel bad - about 99% of Americans don’t either).
