Mateo from San Mateo

It kind of stinks having to live in a hometown where it’s name is your own. Mateo from San Mateo…yeah that’s a pretty lame and common joke back in the days. But, it’s a pretty nice place to grow up in. It’s suburban which is nice in it’s own way. There is plenty of trees and fields of grass instead of a whole bunch of pollution. However, it is fun to take the 45 minute ride to San Francisco to explore the city and whatnot.
Where I live is commonly known as “The Bay Area” which thrives off of diversity and open minds. In just a few months I’ll be leaving the Bay Area, something that is hard for me to believe. I’ve pretty much lived here my whole life. I’ll miss the piers and beaches, the forests, the best city, and great people. That’s all for now, more later!

My job-Patri Quijada

Hi! I’m A student at highschool in El Prat de Llobregat and this is the last year there. Its called Baldiri Guilera. In my highschool I’m studying social sciences because there are many job opportunitiesin social social sciences.

Now, I am studying English at the Official Language School too because I need to learn it because this language is very important to work. When I finish highschool I would like to study Publicity or Tourism in the University of Barcelona. I hope that I can go to the university.

In the Highschool classes start at half past eight a.m. and finish at three o’clock p.m. Here I have got friends.

That’s all for now.

My family-Patri Quijada

Hello Mateo!!!
I live in El Prat de Llobregat in a flat with my mother, her boyfriend and my sister. Their names are Antonia, Jose Luis and Lidia. My parents are divorced. My father lives with his mother. His name is Fernando. My sister has got a boyfriend. His name is David. He is my brother-in-law.
I have got many uncles and aunts but some of them don’t live in El Prat de Llobregat. The majority of my cousins are younger than me.
Some relatives live in Granada, Almeria, Madrid and Ciudad Real consequently I can’t visit them.

Take care.

My hobbies-Patri Quijada

I like the summer because I have got holidays, I can go to the beach, I can travel and visit my family from Granada, Almeria, Madrid…
That’s all for now.

My Family (Mateo)

My family is pretty much a divide betwen my mom’s side and my dad’s side. My mom’s side of the family almost all resides in Guatemala and is HUGE. I have four uncles and four aunts and each one of them have on average six kids. My great-grandma is still alive and nobody is quite sure exactly how old she is. I love my mom’s side of the family to death and I have had countless adventures with my cousins, many which have landed me in unusual situations.

My father’s side of the family is much different. It is a lot smaller and I have two aunts and only a handfull of younger cousins. I don’t communicate with my dad’s side of the family because they live so far away. I rarely get the chance to visit them because the United States is so large.

There is my immediate family there is my mom, my dad, my brother and my sister but I’ve already talked about them. In short, I love my family very much.

My Job (Mateo)

I mostly work only when school is out because my parents didn’t allow me to work and study at the same time. One summer I volunteered in Guatemala helping the poor and sick. Another summer I had to work to make some pocket money for college. However, in the future I’m not sure what I’d like to do. I know that I need a job soon to earn money for college. I am in the process of looking for a job, but I haven’t really been looking too hard because I have been occupied with other things. In the end I just hope that I get a job that I love. I don’t really care that much about money if what I do makes me happy.

1. Hello, I’m Mateo

Hey Patricia, it’s nice to meet you. That was a pretty detailed account on your appearance. I guess I should do the same. Picture Arnold Schwarzenegger from The Terminator. That is the opposite of me. I can’t take a shotgun wound to the face and live nor punch my way through walls. Coincidently Arnold is also the governor of the state I live in, California. Despite what you may have heard, only some parts of California are good for surfing. Around San Francisco, where I live, the water is freezing cold. So instead of surfing I play saxophone, piano, and attempt guitar. I was just told that I’m in a band called “The Funky Tunas”. Honestly, what do you think of the name? I must admit that I’m a lot better at art than music, and I’m not even sure if I’m too great at that either. I usually just draw, but when I’m in the mood I paint a little too. My heroes consist of Abraham Lincoln because he freed the slaves, Walt Disney for putting smiles on so many children’s faces, and the HULK because he’s awesome and…well see for yourself.hulk

That’s why nobody messes with the Hulk. Whenever I feel down I listen to R. Kelly’s soothing voice in “I’m the World’s Greatest” but besides that I listen from everything to rock to Beethoven. I’m going stop writing now because my fingers hurt. If I missed anything it might be in the Spanish blog.
